RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

Over the past 10+ years, I’ve led and contributed to multidisciplinary research projects spanning academia, healthcare, and technology. I bring deep expertise in study design, statistical analysis, and translating findings into practical solutions.

Assistant Professor of Psychology
Webster University | Aug 2023 – Present

  • Lead behavioral research projects focused on risky decision-making and stress in real-world contexts (e.g., alcohol-impaired driving, mobile interventions)

  • Teach and develop data analysis curriculum (R, Jamovi, SPSS) and train students on reproducible workflows and applied statistics

  • Mentor students in psychophysiological research and data storytelling

  • Serve as a statistical consultant for interdisciplinary research in cross-functional teams

  • Write grants, manage IRB protocols, and present data insights to academic and non-academic audiences

Key Tools: R, jamovi, SPSS, data visualization, survey platforms, qualitative interviewing, project management

Postdoctoral Research Fellow (NIAAA T32)
University of Missouri – Columbia | Aug 2020 – Aug 2023

  • Built and applied machine learning and computational models to understand decision-making under alcohol intoxication

  • Conducted behavioral data analysis using mixed-effects models, Bayesian inference, and classification methods in R

  • Collaborated with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., clinicians, developers, policy researchers) on study design and data strategy

  • Presented findings to national audiences and contributed to peer-reviewed publications with high real-world relevance

  • Served as internal data consultant and trained team members on advanced statistical techniques

Key Tools: R, Bayesian modeling, ML workflows, survey data, longitudinal analysis

Graduate Research Assistant – Cognitive Neuroscience of Stress Lab
Saint Louis University | Aug 2016 – Jun 2020

  • Led end-to-end execution of multiple behavioral research projects using physiological and survey data (e.g., cortisol, impulsivity, smartphone-based tracking)

  • Managed participant recruitment, protocol development, IRB approval, and data collection/cleaning

  • Analyzed complex, longitudinal datasets using R and SPSS; built mixed models and visualized key patterns in stress-behavior interactions

  • Supervised 10+ student researchers and coordinated cross-departmental collaborations

  • Delivered research presentations to academic, health, and public audiences

Key Tools: R, SPSS, Qualtrics, REDCap, data cleaning, multilevel models, Shiny (introductory), survey design

Clinical Research Coordinator
Washington University School of Medicine – Weight Mgmt & Eating Disorders Lab | May 2014 – Jul 2016

  • Managed large-scale health behavior research studies across multiple sites

  • Developed and maintained systems for tracking study compliance, data quality, and reporting for NIH grants

  • Created audit systems, led internal hiring processes, and trained team members in research protocols

  • Coordinated communication with stakeholders including funders, research partners, and clinical collaborators

Key Tools: Excel, REDCap, project documentation systems, compliance tracking, stakeholder coordination

Adjunct Instructor & Independent Study Mentor
Webster University & Saint Louis University | 2018–2023

  • Designed and taught courses in statistics, research methods, and psychology with a focus on applied data skills

  • Mentored students in independent projects using real datasets, emphasizing reproducibility and interpretation

  • Transitioned courses to online platforms while maintaining interactivity and outcomes

Key Tools: R, Jamovi, pedagogical design

Research Assistant – Lifespan Wellness Lab
Webster University | May 2012 – May 2014

  • Supported behavioral research on health behaviors and stress across the lifespan

  • Conducted literature reviews, data collection, SPSS-based analysis, and participant management

  • Assisted in grant writing and student research development

Key Tools: SPSS, Excel, survey platforms, early-stage protocol development
